The Cathedral is at the heart of the community in Llandaff and is the Mother Church for the Diocese of Llandaff. We welcome many different community groups who gather in the Cathedral and in our Parish Hall, offering great opportunities to meet others.

If you’d like to get involved, send us a message or click the button below to take a look at our volunteering opportunities.

  • Llandaff Cathedral Community Council

The LCCC is an elected body which works with Chapter on advising and developing its strategy.

  • The Friends of Llandaff Cathedral

The Friends of Llandaff Cathedral is an independent charity which exists to support the work of the Dean & Chapter. Find out more at Home | Friends Of Llandaff

  • Young Cathedral Council

The Young Cathedral Council consists of young people aged 10-15 and enables them to get involved in organising events and promoting their ideas in the Cathedral community.

  • Eco-Church Group

The Eco-Church Group is a committee of ambitious people who aim to reduce the Cathedral’s carbon footprint and promote environmental issues. They achieved the A Rocha UK Silver Award for the Cathedral and are now working towards the Gold Award!

  • Mothers' Union

We meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday afternoons of most months (some changes during holiday times ) at 2.00pm in the Parish Hall.

Although these meetings provide us with plenty of time for fellowship and often a speaker on some social issue (with of course, a cup of tea!), for those who don’t want, or can’t, commit to meetings at a local level there is the opportunity to become a global member, friend or supporter. All types of membership require a fee set by the national organisation.

We are part of a global Christian movement working with people of all faiths and none to develop communities, strengthen families and advocate for change.  M.U. is active in 84 countries and works tirelessly to serve communities and build a future where everyone thrives.

You might like to look at the website www.mothersunion.org where you can see and hear about several projects being carried out in this Diocese of Llandaff. We’re happy to welcome anyone who feels they’d like to support the aims mentioned above, so do join us if you can and if you’d like more information, please contact the Cathedral at [email protected]

  • Guild of St Teilo

The Guild meets twice a month on the Second and Fourth Monday of each month at 2pm in the Parish Hall. It is open to all women of any age. We provide a friendly community for all our members to socialise and create lasting friendships in a familiar setting outside our homes. We also offer a wide variety of speakers who inform, enlighten and provide opportunities for general discussion, details of which are on our programme of events which is published and distributed every year to our members.

We aim to keep the cost of membership as low as possible to ensure affordability and at present a year’s subscription is £15 p.a. which covers all speakers and refreshments. We warmly welcome visitors to any of our meetings, which are advertised in the Llandaff Cathedral Weekly notes. The Committee who organise the Guild are often long-term members of the Guild and who meet regularly to discuss all aspects our programme including our community Christmas Meal and an interesting outing each year.

For further information about the Guild, please contact the Chairperson Katharine MacDonald on 02920562488
