This week’s services

The Cathedral to close during national lockdown:

Following the Welsh Government announcement about the two week ‘firebreaker’ lockdown starting on Friday 23rd October at 6pm, there will be no Sunday services in the Cathedral on Sundays 25th October, 1st November or 8th November. The Cathedral will also be closed for prayer from Saturday 24th October until Sunday 8th November inclusive. We will re-open for visitors on Monday 9th November from 2pm to 4pm as usual. Closing time will be at 4pm every day through the winter.

Online Sunday services, online Sunday School, and Thought for the Week on Wednesdays will continue.  The online service for Sunday 8th November will include an Act of Remembrance.

A ‘zoom’ coffee morning will be available at 11.40am on each Sunday when we are closed for services for those who request the link. Please email [email protected] if you would like to take part.

Wednesday 21st October

•  Thought for the Week is based on one of the day’s lectionary readings.  For the Bible online, click the following link – http://bible.oremus.org/ – then choose your version (we use NRSV in church). Copy and paste the reference (2 Kings 18. 13-end) into the search box and the passage will be displayed.

Once you’ve read the passage, watch Canon Jan’s Thought for the Week below or click here to view the text version.

Sunday 18th October – The Feast of St Luke, Evangelist

•  If you wish to attend a service in the Cathedral this Sunday, you can print out the Order of Service below, or alternatively bring a mobile phone/tablet with you to follow the service. You can now scan a QR code in the Cathedral on Sundays which takes you directly to the service sheet.
