The Dean & Chapter offers condolences to the Royal Family

The Cathedral tenor bell, weighing one and a quarter tons, tolled 99 times to mourn the Duke of Edinburgh before his funeral at 3pm on Saturday. This was part of the Cathedral’s period of mourning for the Duke through prayer and celebration of his lifetime of dedication to the Queen and country, and the Church in Wales flag flew at half-mast.

On Sunday 25th April, the Cathedral Choir will sing Choral Evensong for the first time in 2021, in a service dedicated to Prince Philip, starting at 4.00pm.
