Lunchtime Recital Series

In May and June we will welcome young musicians from across Cardiff to play in the Cathedral’s Saturday Lunchtime Recital Series. Performers will come from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and the Welsh Academy of Voice, among other places, to perform 45-minute recitals. Director of Music Stephen Moore says “It’s wonderful to be able to provide the Cathedral as a performance platform for some of the UK’s most exciting musical talent. The recital series promises performances of the highest quality in one of the most wonderful settings in Cardiff and is a chance for people to come into the Cathedral perhaps for the first time.”

Recitals begin at 1.00pm (unless otherwise stated) with FREE admission and a retiring collection, and the schedule of performances is as follows:

Saturday 11 May – String Players from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama

Saturday 18 May – Singers from the Welsh International Academy of Voice

Saturday 25 May – The Royal Welsh Consort of Viols – This recital begins at 11.00am

Saturday 1 June – The Llinyn String Quartet
