Our Mission Statement

Llandaff Cathedral is a Christian gathering of the Church in Wales, which is a province of the worldwide Anglican Communion. It is also the seat of the Bishop of Llandaff. The Cathedral is a focus of pilgrimage and spirituality in the Diocese of Llandaff and for the City of Cardiff. Our purpose is therefore to worship God and share the gospel of Jesus Christ. In so doing, we welcome all who come here, irrespective of gender, race, creed or sexuality, in order that we might share and pass on our rich Christian heritage and the joy of Christian faith.

Thought for the Week

The Women’s World Day of Prayer is on Friday 2 March, and this year the service has been prepared by women in Suriname, in South America. Their chosen theme is ‘All God’s Creation is Very Good!’, for “we believe that the Christian faith community can make a great contribution to the preservation of a living, healthy and safe environment. The future of the earth for the next generations matters to us. It reminds us of the relationship between God and creation, and God and humanity. Suriname, like many countries, feels the effect of worldwide climate change: drought, hurricane, and storm, due to global warming. In the 21st century/24-hour economy, which is striving for good economic outcomes and excellent returns, Christians need to balance God’s Creation with man’s creations.”
